Today we went with our friend Ian up to Reekie Linn for an afternoon to enjoy the extended sunshine we’ve been experiencing recently. Through the countryside and up past Alyth on the B954, you turn off the road just over the bridge find a grassy area at the Reekie Linn car park. There are picnic tables today there were two tents pitched. We sat down at one of the tables, had our picnic and enjoyed the sun.We then set off towards the waterfall. It’s not a simple walk as the path us literally been trodden into the forest going beside the river Isla, but it is managble nonetheless. We walked past the drop which overlooked the waterfall and marvelled at how beautiful it was.The little dude was very impressed, as well as giving all three adults panic attacks with his insistence to walk unaided. We continued up the path futher, saw some cows and someone gliding above usWe turned back when it became clear we wouldn’t find a path down to the river at this point and then went back to the small riverside and paddled in the stream. Aside from Ben almost drowning himself and me scooping him up one handed while holding a can of San Pellegrino and keeping mostly dry, we had a lovely time exploring the rocks and stream. We’ve decided we’ll come back one day and explore the waterfall some more and probably pitch a tent at the carpark.
