I’ve long had a love of what I refer to as geographical curiosities. I’m not sure if there is a proper word for it.

For a while, I even had it mentioned on my personal homepage (history).

I saw the flash talks from this year’s Grand Meetup had been uploaded last week so I went to have a look and saw one from a colleague titled Crazy Borders of Europe. 

I mean, I had to have a watch, especially since this was the thumbnail:

Yes, the amazing and complex border of Baarle-Hertog and Baarle-Nassau. A personal favourite. It was a good watch!

So I pinged him and mentioned how much I enjoyed it. I mentioned another my favourite borders, which is the pene-enclave and he responded with one I hadn’t heard of – Campione d’Italia.
